SCM’s Hex Channel Video Adapter is a programmable video adapter that supports a wide variety of applications and formats. The HCVA provides multiple video channels along with a multi-dropped RS422 keyboard link. It is used primarily for applications that require multiple screen/keyboard interfaces on a PC platform. The HCVA provides configurations from 12 RS170 monochrome text channels to six VGA color RGB text or graphics channels. Up to eight HCVA boards can be used in one PC platform, providing as many as 96 video channels

Video Formats - The HCVA uses programmable hardware to provide virtually any video format, standard or custom. It supports video pixel rates up to 100MHz. The video outputs are analog 75 ohm for both monochrome and RGB color. The HCVA also supports text formats up to 256 columns x 64 lines.

Font Support - Up to 24 downloadable fonts can be accessed in the HCVA, each with 256 characters. The character format can support a pixel call ,matrix of up to 16x32.

Character Attributes - The HCVA can support a wide variety of character attributes, such as blink, underline, double underline, half-intensity and reverse video.

Gray Shades - In a monochrome configuration, the HCVA can provide up to 256 gray shades/channel.

Color Seletion - In a color configuration, the HCVA can provide up to 256 color combinations out of 262,144 per channel.

Keyboard Communications - The HCVA provides an RS422 multi-dropped link to communicate with keyboard or keypad devices. The link supports up to 16 devices.

Software - The HCVA comes with a "C" library to support both video and keyboard functions.
